Thank you for being part of the Spoonies For Life community! Without you all of this would not be possible.
Spoonies For Life is a community for people with an invisible illness, chronic pain and mental illness. The community is completely free to use. There is a support team of real life spoonies. We are not trained medical professionals, we can only speak out of personal experience.
Why should you give Spoonies For Life financial support?
The money will be used to pay for hosting and to hire professional spoonie writers to grow the website and community. It will also be used to fund fun giveaways, like a spoonie teeshirt. Or spoonie related trinkets that we send out to people in the community.
For example, there is a 15-year old girl named MacKenzie. To lift her spirits her mom requested that we send her spoons. So we asked the community and they responded! MacKenzie received spoons from all over the world. Unfortunatley many spoonies that wanted to send MacKenzie a spoon could not afford the postage. In the future I would like to use the Spoonies For Life funds to cover costs like this.
Another example: The community decided we need our own ribbon, a special Spoonies For Life ribbon. The Spoonies For Life ribbon colour is voted pearl with a silver lining. An amazing lady called Katherine actually ordered 300 ribbons to distribute to member of the community. She is paying for all of this out of her own pocket. I would like to be able to help her using Spoonie funds.
At the moment we are building a webshop where fellow spoonies can sell their spoonie crafts. This has monthly costs aside from all the time and effort it takes to get it up and running.
So please help me, help the community.
(minimum donation is $1 – $1,00-USD means $1)
Who is behind Spoonies For Life?
My name is Natalie, I am the creator of Spoonies For Life. It started as a Facebook page, later we (me and my fellow admins) added the closed support group and now I have also built this website.
I am a spoonie single mother who suffers from Hashimoto’s Thyroid disease and Fibromyalgia. I can not keep a full time job because of my illness, so I decided to sell teeshirts online to support myself and my daughter. I use the Facebook page and support group as my own support system too. It helps me deal with life as a spoonie.
On this website I sell teeshirts and other spoonie related stuff. So when you buy something from this site you know the profit goes to a spoonie family in need. I also place affiliate links to different usufull things like relevant books and make a commission that way.
The Give Support button is for helping the community in any way I can.
