Spoonie Story: Elizabeth

spoonie story Elizabeth

Hiya! My name is Elizabeth and I joined the Spoonie crowd in 2010. Two weeks after my honeymoon, I started having pain in my pelvis that was thought to be Endometriosis. But during exploratory surgery, they found a mass of dilated veins in my pelvic floor instead. I was diagnosed with Pelvic Congestion Syndrome.

Over the last few years I have had several invasive and non invasive procedures done, to try and alleviate the pain with little to no improvement. With lifestyle adjustments and a proper med plan, I am now a happy stay at home mom of three beautifully complex teenagers and married to a fantastic man who works very hard to help me make the most of my limited Spoon days.

In 2012 I started writing a blog about my (at the time) recent recovery and continue to write 3 years later as a way to educate others about Spoonie life. About 6 weeks ago I created a FB page to compliment my blog: These Next 6 Months. And I’m working to find ways to reach others in my community who are living with this new condition. If you think you may have PCS or have recently been diagnosed I’d love to connect!”
